We Value Waste.

We imagine a world where cities gain environmental, economic, and social value from their waste.
We believe this improves urban environmental sustainability and community health.

THE CHALLENGE

Sub-Saharan cities are growing at a fast pace, and so is their waste.
The average Sub-Saharan city is experiencing a steady annual growth rate of 5% to 6%, and the average Sub-Saharan citizen produces .34 kg of waste per day.

Waste is openly disposed onto
streets and into our communities.

When waste is not treated properly it pollutes the environment, creates unnecessary health hazards, clogs our waterways, and contaminates our groundwater.

We need functional solid waste management to service cities.

Cooperation between households, communities, and private enterprises is necessary to replace a model that leaves over 75% of households dissatisfied and contributes to pollution.

WASTE GENERATED

Waste is openly dumped onto the streets and into our communities.  When it is not properly treated it exacerbates pollutants in our environment and creates unnecessary health hazards. It clogs our waterways and our groundwater becomes contaminated.

WASTE MANAGEMENT

We need solid waste management to deal with the growth of people and trash.  From there trash can be recycled and properly disposed of on a regular basis - compared to the existing system that collects trash several times a month.
